Myrtle October is a dedicated advocate for criminal justice reform, spearheading initiatives at Threat to Thriving Inc. to reduce recidivism and support reentry. Recognized as a dynamic leader, she blends advocacy, community engagement, and evidence-based practices.
Join us on March 17th, 2024, as Myrtle October shares insights on reentry challenges in a 45-minute talk at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Naples. Engage in a meaningful Q&A session and be part of the conversation for positive societal change.
In her previous volunteer role as a station director for a non-profit radio station. Summarase Inc., dba WSGD-LP Suga 95.7FM in beautiful Lehigh Acres FL affectionately known as "The Station for the Nation". Sharing live discussions focused on incarceration issues each week.
She is a proud member of the Imperial River American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) in Greater Estero FL where she serves on the PR Committee, 2nd Delegate on the council team.
She serves the 65 and older community as an insurance agent, carries group insurance and individual insurance, she is a soulful singer, actor and author both as a hobby & professionally.
She has written and self-published three-children's books and one-self help book entitled:

Graduating from Barry University in May of 2019 with a Master Degree in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management taught her service & life taught her how to grow. She comes today to educate and entertain us about a very important topic.
